The Son of Adam was the plan

BIBLE PASSAGES

  1. Deuteronomy 21:10-25:19

  2. Isaiah 40:1-11

  3. Mark 1:1-14

Deuteronomy speaks about the tassels on the four corners of the garments that God required the people to make. These tassels were to remind them that they were people of the covenant of the Law that God gave to them. This was part of the plan to help them know that they were set apart as a son of Adam to stay in connection with God through a relationship of a heart of flesh, not stone.

The understanding of the tassel in its knots, fringes, and single blue thread reminds us of the fulfillment that Yeshua is and was of the Torah that was given to all of us-Hebrews and foreigners alike. The reality is that God’s Word stands forever and is not something we should be perverting or making our own man-made doctrines concerning.

It is our responsibility to take the embodiment of the tassel, Yeshua, and proclaim the good news of His arrival by setting an example, letting our life speak to those around us. There are many things and places today where we can invest our time and energy. When we come to Father God with our life and lay it down before the Son of Adam, we need to realize that He will give it back to us with a new heart and a transforming mind, will, and emotions.

“You shall make yourself tassels on the four corners of the garment with which you cover yourself.” - Deuteronomy 22:12

“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. O Zion, messenger of good news, shout from the mountaintops! Shout it louder, O Jerusalem. Shout, and do not be afraid. Tell the towns of Judah, “Your God is coming!” Yes, the Sovereign Lord is coming in power. He will rule with a powerful arm. See, He brings His reward with Him as He comes. He will feed His flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in His arms holding them close to His heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.” - Isaiah 40:9-11

Questions for Reflection:

▪ Am I proclaiming the Father's message with my life?

▪ Do I believe the Word of the Lord stands forever?

▪ Am I willing to let those around me know that God is coming in power and that He will rule with a powerful arm?

▪ Am I teachable enough to be fed by God or do I need to become hungry for the truth?

▪ How willing am I to obey the voice of the Lord in the specifics of what He asks me to do?

▪ Am I willing to lay my dignity aside for the sake of my relationship with God?
